15 Attempts at Getting Your Shit Together

April is coming to a close, literally, in like a day, and hopefully, you are either one step closer to having your shit together—or if you are like me, you are probably flailing in the wind somewhere. If I’ve learned anything this month, I have learned that getting one’s shit together is both idealistic and completely unrealistic.

The truth is, no one has there shit together, because everything is subjective; but of course, you already knew that.

Getting one’s shit together is a journey, a process, a small step towards a grandiose goal, one that we should take graciously, humbly, and honestly. Hopefully knowing that sometimes we will fail and sometimes we will fuck it up.

But there is something about this knowing that things most likely won’t always be perfectly together that ties everyone together. It makes us human. The fact that we fail and fall, and stumble through our days trying to balance everything perfectly while occasionally dropping the things we are trying to juggle.

As we enter May, let’s take a moment to appreciate our attempts this past month at getting our lives in order. Maybe you attempted to eat healthier or start a workout routine. Maybe you attempted to learn about the environment and tried to curb your carbon footprint. Whatever your goal and whether or not you completed your task or not, be thankful for yourself that you at least tried. I know that could possibly sound like the cheesiest thing to ever be written down on the planet, but I’m serious.
