The Theory of Orange Things

I had this friend in high school who really loved the color orange. Of course, she was like this super cool free-spirited goddess from Brazil, but she loved the color and honestly it suited her.

I never really understood why occasionally I would meet people who were really passionate about the color orange until I realized that it is the antithesis to red.

Not really, I just have personally never liked orange, BUT I guess like on the color wheel they are not far from each other and I love bright red and pink together so I guess it could work…

With all of the transition that happened between the end of July and early August, I was in a very weird emotional state. So when I decided that the color for August would be orange I didn’t actually know why I chose it, and because I don’t like the color, I avoided it.

However, after some serious sessions of crying and emotional stuff, I decided to take a look at the color orange, halfway through the month.

“The color orange radiates warmth and happiness, combining the physical energy and stimulation of red with the cheerfulness of yellow.Orange relates to ‘gut reaction’ or our gut instincts, as opposed to the physical reaction of red or the mental reaction of yellow. Orange offers emotional strength in difficult times. It helps us to bounce back from disappointments and despair, assisting in recovery from grief. The color psychology of orange is optimistic and uplifting, rejuvenating our spirit.” – Empowered by Color

It was like the universe was trying to tell me something early on that I would be needing this month. Uplifting encouragements and bounce back from the mishegas that happened.

So much like the color lunges into my eyelids, I am going to plunge into the color. Hopefully, it’ll provide you lovelies with some positivity and bounce back from the chaos that is going on in the world today.

It seems like we need it this month.
